Art education between past and present:
The philosophical concepts that have influenced the history of art education are idealism, realism, naturalism, and bergism .
The first period in the history of art education came from the beginning of education in the era of Muhammad Ali to the early twentieth century and was influenced by the old traditional education philosophy, and that painting is divided as theoretical and linear.
Then came the second period in the history of art education between the two world wars 1916 and 1945.
The curriculum included the simulated nature directly of plastic art and the commitment to study the concepts of perspective, rules of shadow and light, gradation of colors, and other skills. The drawing curriculum was also divided into four well-known types: drawing natural and made models and drawing from Memory, decoration, colors, and imaginative drawing.
Then came the third period in preparing and establishing the rules of education in Egypt.
Then came the fourth period in the history of art education. Curricula developed in general, and artistic education curricula in particular, paying attention to children and their mental and innovative ability and working on developing these capabilities.
